AUDIO PRODUCTION
Beyond theater and film I have worked on various other kinds of sound design. The influence of sound is not limited to any particular discipline in the arts. You will find examples of my work that focus on different forms of imagery and creativity.
Audio Immersion
I took this image, an oil painting by Leonid Afremov, and created a soundtrack that I consider "immersive". Influenced by the vivid colors and sounds of the image, I created a relevant soundscape. The piano piece by Erik Satie is Gymnopédie No.1.
The Twelve Huntsmen
The Twelve Huntsmen is a Grimm's Fairy Tale. I wanted to tell this story in the style of an audio/visual book. I worked with Jeff Dulyea-Parker (artist) and Lance Savage (web content developer and story editer) to update and create new media for this story. With narration by Colin Trevino-Odell, I recorded sound effects, a voiceover, and created an original score. I have include the audio tracks and artist designs below.
Non-Visual Audio
This is a project I did in response to the show Water By The Spoonful. I created an original script that told a fictional story about a character from the show. Narrated by Ron Roman, Elliot Ortiz reflects on his time in the army and the story that haunts him still. Interweaving sound effects and a voiceover track, this fatal tale is brought to life.
My goal with this project was to create a music track, recording and using anything that would not typically be called an instrument. The combination of keys, glass, pipes, cement blocks, and other found objects helped to create this musical collage.
I took the original Harry Potter 4 audiobook and rewrote/reedited 30 seconds of voice work. The goal here was to edit out each word from an existing voiceover and combine them to make a new audio clip without using consecutive words from the original. Rights for audiobook belong to Random House and the Listening Library.
